What Inspired Kate Hudson’s Music?
The award-winning actress, whose father is singer Bill Hudson and mother is actress Goldie Hawn, revealed that her song was inspired by those summer nights when you crush on someone and you wonder if you’ll go home with them. She admitted she’s never done that in her life, but just loves the “rawness” of the song, which was inspired by a lot of “UK musicians, rock musicians.”
Kate dropped her debut single, “Talk About Love,” in January. She co-wrote the song with Linda Perry and her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa. She made her music performance debut at the GLAAD Media Awards a few months later in March.
While talking to People, Hudson opened up about stepping into the music industry and writing songs for her upcoming album. “It’s really fun. I’m really enjoying it. The writing process was the most important and cathartic for me,” she expressed to the outlet.
Her debut studio album, Glorious, will be out on May 17th. In the meantime, she revealed she’s been busy making music videos for some of the tracks. Fans will have more to look forward to with the visuals, as Kate says the fashion in each of them are “different extensions of myself in these songs.”
Earlier this month, Kate opened to E! News about deciding to kick off her music career. She simply said that with music and songwriting, “It was time.” She was fearful of being rejected for her writing, but realized that as she’s gotten older, that only holds you back. Taking those risks are what gives Hudson a thrill in life and put herself out there.
