Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari are shutting down reports that she recently had a “manic” episode in a public restaurant. Last week, gossip website TMZ reported that Britney “caused a scene” at JOEY restaurant in Woodland Hills, California, while the couple was out to eat. According to the outlet, eyewitnesses saw Britney and Sam immediately being recognized by other diners at the restaurant, many of whom filmed the pair as they tried to enjoy their outing. This apparently annoyed Britney, who apparently grew visibly irritated, resulting in what the onlookers described as a “manic” episode.

The footage immediately went viral and sparked a mixed reaction. While several users expressed their concern for Britney and questioned why Sam would supposedly leave her alone in a vulnerable state, others noted that jumping to conclusions was super harmful given that the full picture was so unclear. The gossip site went on to claim that Sam stormed off after getting upset as well, with a video of Britney sitting alone yelling, and “talking gibberish.” Now, speaking to the outlet on Monday (January 16), Sam clarified that the “manic” episode “didn’t happen,” and that he left to get the car. Sam said, ““It’s frustrating. Absolutely frustrating…. When you sit down to have a meal, people get their cameras out and start filming you and stuff. It’s disrespectful. You know what it is? Fame comes with the territory.”
Spears herself addressed the situation in an Instagram post yesterday: “I watched ‘NATURAL BORN KILLERS’ this morning and damn I got ENLIGHTENED … and HOLY SMOKES S— BALLS I’m sure I brought a billion SMILES to me LOOKING LIKE SHREK at a restaurant. Even my best friend couldn’t WAIT TO SEND IT TO ME, THEY DON’T THINK TWICE because we are all natural born killers … I know the news is all hyped about me being a little drunk at a restaurant … it’s like they’ll be WATCHING MY EVERY MOVE !!! I’m so flattered they talk about me like a maniac THEN have the balls to talk about all the negative things that happened in my past !!! Honestly it would be safer for me to compliment this world and f— up because if I become a prophet and don’t create history, we might have something y’all… I’m just KIDDING, but it’s a good thought. On Christmas, Asghari posted a photo of the newlyweds atop a picturesque view. He wrote of his pop icon wife: “A little hike & a little meditation on Christmas Day goes a long way. my wife is really becoming a meditation guru and I love it. Merry Britmas to you all. from Samta & Britney.”
Britney Spears ‘Cried Happy Tears’ At Her ‘Fairytale’ Wedding
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s wedding turned out to be the “fairytale” they envisioned, despite Britney’s ex-husband Jason Alexander crashing the wedding. A source told PEOPLE that the bride was overjoyed to finally say “I do,” adding that she walked herself down the aisle, as she didn’t invite any family members .
“It ended up being the happiest night for Britney,” the source told the publication. “She wanted a fairytale wedding and she got it. Britney looked stunning. She is very excited to be married. She looks forward to a future with Sam.”
“As soon as she walked down the aisle and saw Sam, she had the biggest smile. She cried several times during the ceremony, but it was all happy tears,” they said, adding, “Britney danced for hours at the reception. You could tell that she had the best time.”
Multiple sources confirmed that the couple tied the knot Thursday night before an intimate star-studded guest list of about 60 people, including Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez and Madonna (who shared a smooch with the bride).

According to sources, Spears wore a gown by Versace, with Donatella Versace at the ceremony, and walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
Asghari’s manager, Brandon Cohen, told PEOPLE after the ceremony, “I am very ecstatic this day has come, and they are married. I know he wanted this for so long. He is so caring and supportive every step of the way.”
Spears, 40, and the actor and fitness trainer, 28, were first romantically linked after they met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016 and the rest is history.
However, what was meant to be a fairytale was disrupted by Britney’s ex, who she was married to for a very brief 55 hours back in 2004; he stormed into her wedding venue yesterday, while livestreaming on Instagram.
“Hey Britney!” he can be heard shouting as he walks around the premises. “I’m here to crash the wedding because nobody is here except Sam. Where the f— is the family?”
“So here’s the inside scoop guys of the bulls— wedding,” he said as he filmed. Viewers who were watching the livestream commented that they were “scared” for Britney’s safety as Jason made his way around her house and disturbingly told someone off camera, “Don’t f— with me bro, I’m done.”
Jason was eventually arrested by police officers, People reports.
Britney and Sam’s wedding still went ahead, though the couple and their guests were reportedly left “shocked” and “shaken up” by the incident.
