Eva Mendes Hints At Being Married To Ryan Gosling With Tattoo
Eva Mendes’ new ink may be hinting that her long-term relationship with Ryan Gosling may have finally resulted in tying the knot! Yesterday (November 15), Mendes, 48, posted a photo to Instagram of her wrist covering up her face with a tattoo being the focal point. The actress has been famously private about her 11-year relationship with Gosling, 42, but this new photo suggests she wants people to know.
Mendes’ new ink reads: “de Gosling,” which, in Hispanic culture, the use of “de” or “of” unifies the woman’s last name with her husband’s after marriage, meaning the star’s tattoo could be indicative of a “Mrs. Gosling” title. Mendes kept her caption short with two black heart emojis around crossed swords. See the photo below:
This isn’t the first time Mendes gave fans a glimpse at her ink. In an Instagram photo shared in September, she subtly displayed the wrist tattoo while showing off a field of orange flowers. “September….I remember when you were symbolic of the beginning of autumn and sweater weather. Now you’re just a summer extender. It’s 100 degrees here today. I’m just sayin…,” she captioned the post.
Mendes and Gosling met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011, in which they played a couple with an infant son. Shortly after filming wrapped, the two were spotted getting cozy at Disneyland and sharing a romantic kiss in Paris. Five years later, a false report made by Us Weekly said they secretly married, but sources confirmed to People that they did not wed. The couple did have children together, though, with daughters Esmeralda Amada, 8, and Amada Lee, 6.
Gosling recently said that some of his latest projects have been inspired by his daughters, telling the Daily Mail in August, “I’m like a dad first, and part of the reason for doing the film [The Gray Man] was this opportunity for us to go to these interesting places and be there with my kids.” He added that the plans to introduce his daughters to his work with his upcoming Barbie movie where he stars alongside Margot Robbie as Barbie and he plays Ken.
“Barbie was a way to do that. Not necessarily like I’m making it for them, but it’s the first time I think they kind of are understanding [it]. Although, they can’t for the life of them understand why I want to play Ken because nobody plays with Ken,” he teased. “But that’s why we must tell his story.”
