MTV has unveiled the nominees for their 2022 Video Music Awards. Kendrick Lamar, Lil Nas X, and Jack Harlow lead the pack with seven nominations each.

Following behind the aforementioned is Doja Cat with six nominations, while Drake and The Weekend grab five noms each. 26 artists are up for their first VMA trophy, including Baby Keem, Tems, and Muni Long.

Starting today (July 26), fans can vote for their favorite artists 22 gender-neutral categories, including “Video of the Year,” “Artist of the Year,” and “Best Collaboration.” There are also two new categories that are being introduced this year which are “Best Longform Video” and “Best Metaverse Performance.” Voting will conclude on August 19.

The 2022 VMAs are set to broadcast live on Sunday, August 28th, from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Fans can watch the live ceremony on MTV as well as BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TVLand, VH1, and The CW.

The 2022 VMA host, performers, announcers, and nominees for social categories will be announced at a later date.
