LeBron James Sidelined, Placed In NBA Health & Safety Protocol
If you were watching Tuesday’s game of the Los Angeles Lakers versus the Sacramento Kings, you might have missed LeBron James from your TV screen.
According to TMZ and KRON4, LeBron James tested positive for COVID-19 and was held in NBA Health and Safety protocols following the test.
Other reports from CNN suggest that James was sidelined Tuesday and it is not conclusive if the all-star tested positive or came into contact with someone who had.
Per league protocols, a player won’t be able to play until they submit two negative PCR tests or be out for 10 days.
Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said that they arranged for LeBron to be transported back to Los Angeles safely.
“Obviously, it’s a huge loss,” Vogel said Tuesday ahead of the game in Sacramento per CNN. “It’s disappointing. We just want the best for him right now.”
James is fully vaccinated. He confirmed back in September that although he is vaccinated, he will not be getting involved in other people’s choices.
“We’re talking about individuals’ bodies,” LeBron said back in September per TMZ. “We’re not talking about something that’s political, or racism, or police brutality. Things of that nature. We’re talking about people’s bodies and well-being.”
“So, I don’t feel like, for me personally, that I should get involved in what other people should do for their bodies and their livelihoods.”
