Jack Harlow Donates To His Hometown Special Olympics Softball Team
Jack Harlow is giving back to his hometown.
The town that is mentioned in a lot of his songs, Louisville, KY received a special gift from the “What’s Poppin” rapper. Harlow found out that his local Special Olympics softball team needed new gear and bought the team new uniforms, gloves, catcher’s equipment, and some fan merch for the team according to local Louisville news outlet WHAS11.
Cathy Derringer, the team’s coordinator, said that they usually rely on thrift stores and donations so the rapper’s generosity came at the perfect time.
“They had a donation that was looking for a home,” she said. “It was the exact equipment that we were putting off for a year. We didn’t spend money on it this year because we wanted to wait… it was amazing. We needed it and it found its way to us.”
“We would have to go to flea markets, yard sales and rely on other team’s donations… We are always looking for donations, she explained. “It helps our athletes out so much.”
The players were ecstatic to hear that they were getting new “awesome” uniforms from the rapper.
On the music side, Harlow was recently featured in Lil Nas X’s song and video for “Industry Baby” which now has gotten over 49 million views on YouTube. He will begin touring for his “Creme De La Creme Tour” in September.
