John Mayer Attacked By Swifties After Joining TikTok
John Mayer has had a TikTok account for nearly 24 hours, and he’s quickly found out how Taylor Swift’s fans feel about him. His first three posts were flooded by Swifties roasting him for his one-time romantic relationship with Swift; they broke up in 2009 – he was 32 and she was 19 at the time.
Many fans quoted lyrics from Swift’s 2010 song “Dear John”, which she admittedly wrote about Mayer following their split. To which Mayer said he was “really humiliated” and “felt terrible” by the song, per a Rolling Stones article.
He posted a video that seems to acknowledge the Swifties’ comments, captioning it “POV: You’re berating me and I’m hearing you out.” Just a few hours after his first post, where one user’s comment got over 37,000 likes saying: “you’re not safe here john,” more fans rallied to continue commenting on Mayer’s posts.

Mayer ended his Tik-Tok debut day by singing, “That was a weird day, that-that was a real weird day,” with the caption: more fun tomorrow.

Earlier this week, Taylor Swift made headlines when she clapped back at Netflix’s Ginny and Georgia for using her dating history as the butt of their joke in an episode.
On several occasions in the past, Swift’s relationship history has often been the topic of criticism for media outlets from who she’s dating to the success of her songs written about exes.
