The Babysitter In ‘Borat 2’ Feels Betrayed By The Movie
Now that the new Borat movie, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, is out, many people realize they got duped by Sacha Baron Cohen. One of those people is Jeanise Jones, who was hired in the movie to babysit Borat’s daughter, Tutar.
According to the New York Post, Jones feels betrayed by the film.
They explain that Jeanise was led to believe she participated in a documentary about a teen being groomed to marry a rich man. “I’m feeling like she’s from the Third World, and that kind of stuff does happen where they sell women. I’m thinking this is for real so I felt kind of betrayed by it,” she tells the outlet.
She adds, “He told me it was a documentary for this young lady to understand she has rights and she can do whatever a man can do.”
According to Jones’ pastor, Derrick Scobey, production approached them about needing a “sassy” black grandmother in her 70s to be in the documentary. She was then told that Tutar was 14 or 15 years old.
Jeanise states that she filmed scenes in Oklahoma and Washington and was paid around $3,600. She was also told the movie would premiere overseas.
She reveals she found out she was in a Borat project when a relative showed her the trailer. “I was just kind of shocked and that it was that kind of movie,” she said.
Since the film has come out, Scobey thinks that Jones deserves an apology. He said, “I would love to see him, if nothing else, on a Zoom call in a very lighthearted manner, ‘We’re sorry we pulled one over on you.'” He adds that a check would also be nice since Jeanise has been laid off from her job.
There is now a GoFundMe page up for Jones. It has currently raised over $10,000.
