Dave Chappelle Hosted A Social Distanced Fourth Of July Festival In Ohio
Dave Chappelle and several other big names celebrated the holiday weekend with a mini music festival in Yellow Springs, Ohio. According to Spin, the outdoor event featured Michelle Wolf, Tiffany Haddish, Michael Che, Erykah Badu, Common, Talib Kweli, and Jon Hamm. Questlove also DJ’ed and played music to a fireworks display.
The outlet points out that all of the event’s participants were tested for coronavirus before taking the stage. Also, the 400-person audience wore face masks and practiced social distancing for the entire six-hour event.
Highlights of the show include Erykah Badu singing Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” Dave Chappelle covering Radiohead’s “Creep,” and John Hamm singing Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin.”
As Spin reveals, the festival was professionally filmed for distribution at a later date.
