Fayetteville: Holiday Festival Fun
It may just be early November, but Christmas is in full swing, both the shopping and the festivals around town.
Traditions Old and New
As a tradition, my family makes sure we see some Christmas lights and do some Christmas festival shopping every year before the holiday, whether we get new ideas for gifts or just fun things to do for the holiday. Many times, we start traditions of our own and even some that we might have borrowed from someone else’s idea.
Parades And Lights
As each holiday rolls around, we like to take in a Christmas parade, plenty of scenes of lights, and a craft show or two to give us some ideas of not just what we might purchase but what we might make for our loved ones this year.
Fun Events Around Fayetteville
We searched the Fayetteville area to find out some fun things you can do this Christmas, whether it’s something you’ve done every Christmas or maybe something new that you’re going to try for the very first time this year. Here are some places you might want to check out this holiday season.
The Southern Vintage Market: Christmas Market in the Grove
This Annual Christmas Market in the Grove has over 50 local vendors featuring Handmade, Vintage, Antique & Artisan Foods. The best Christmas shopping and great eats. Food and drink vendors as well! This is an outdoor, pet and kid-friendly event, with free admission and parking. And it’s just a 30-minute drive from Fayetteville.
A Dickens Holiday – Downtown Fayetteville
Experience the charm of “A Dickens Holiday” in downtown Fayetteville. Enjoy local shopping, unique gifts, a candlelight procession, a Gingerbread House contest, costume contests, food and artisan street vendors, Guest speakers, Scrooge, Marley, Tiny Tim, and – not to mention, the Queen and her court. It’s a festive event perfect for creating lasting memories with family and friends.
Holiday Lights in the Garden
Lights sparkle and illuminate a mile-long pathway to showcase the Cape Fear Botanical Garden’s winter beauty during the holiday season. S’mores-roasting, free crafts for children, visits and photos with Santa, holiday gift shopping, and more add to the delightful festivities.
Holiday Lights in the Garden runs December 6- 22, 2024. Regular Garden Hours: Monday-Saturday: 9 am-5 pm; Sunday 12 noon-5 pm.
