Dog Parks In Fayetteville: Get Your Dog Social
The weather is still pretty nice outside with the leaves falling, and it’s a great time to bring your dog to a dog park. A lot of us love just walking our dog around the neighborhood, but dog parks are fun because you get to mingle with other dogs and also talk with the owners about their own dogs and life with canines.
My family and I have a couple of Great Danes, and dog parks can be great places because if you own a Dane, you know how nice and friendly they are. They are pretty big and a little intimidating to people who don’t understand them, but Great Danes are gentle giants and are so sweet and loving. Danes love to be social with other dogs so a dog park is just the right choice for us.
Lots of dog parks actually have two parks right next to each other; one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs. Be sure to bring your dog into the appropriate one. It’s also smart to be aware of every dog in the park. Even if all the dogs are getting along, one aggressive dog could change the mood.
I did some serious searching and found a couple of dog parks, which are great places to bring your puppy, your small dog, or your big dog right here in Fayetteville.
Riverside Dog Park
Riverside Dog Park is located at 555 North Eastern Blvd. Reviews call it a very clean yet big park. One of the attributes of this park is they have separate areas for small dogs and big dogs. Dog park stays open till 8 PM.
There are some great reviews for dog owners about Riverside Dog Park: one says, “Only a few dogs there early morning and our pups loved the small dog area.” Another added, “Plenty of space to run, water and toys included, mostly balls and frisbees.” And: “I go every Sunday. Very clean for a dog park and to socialize your dog.”
Bailey Lake Dog Park
Bailey Lake Dog Park is located at 6723 Bailey Lake Rd. In reviews, It gets 4.5 out of five stars. The park is very spacious and beautiful, with separate areas for small dogs and large dogs. Unlike other dog parks, this park actually hosts activities for you and your dog.
Most reviews for this park are positive. One noted, “Very nice park. Large area divided for both small and large dogs. Dog bags and water are provided. Green grass and covered areas to avoid the sun. Benches provided.”
Another added, “I like the area and how they have some “activities” to do with your dog. It’s a very spacious area on both sides of the park.”
And it’s a large place for your dogs. “Great dog park! We really enjoyed it. More than an acre of space.”
Bark Park At Fort Bragg
Bark Park At Fort Bragg had some mixed reviews. Located at Fort Liberty. North Carolina, this park is spacious and has separate areas for small dogs and big dogs.
It’s not always packed. One review said, “It was completely empty on a wonderful Saturday afternoon…which I can assume is because no one knows about it. There is a water pump.”
It’s well-kept, but that’s partially the responsibility of the dog owners. “It’s very clean, you take a dog baggy to clean up after your dog. They have buckets on both sides for dogs for water, the right side is for the bigger dogs and the left is for the smaller dogs.”
And this one sums it up: “This dog park is basic but it gets the job done! My pup always has someone to run around with in an enclosed space.”
