Mom And Pop Restaurants In Fayetteville
It’s good to know where your southern cooking mom-and-pop restaurants are. My husband and I love southern cooking so much. We’ve been going to a different mom-and-pop until we had to re-rotate for years.
So often, the mom-and-pop restaurants remind us of the food that our grandmother cooked as we were kids or the recipes our mothers held tight to the vest. It’s a little bit of home in every bite.
Lindy’s Restaurant
Lindy’s restaurant is a Fayetteville favorite that serves many dishes, including french toast, hamburger steak, western omelet, and country-style steak. Lindy’s is open 6 AM to 3 PM on most days 6 AM to 2 PM on Sundays. This cozy little place offers takeout but does not accept reservations. It’s also a good place for kids.
Some patron reviews include “Excellent food and superb service. Very comfortable and friendly, and reminds me a lot of my favorite diner in Brandon, MS. You can’t beat the prices!”
“Classic Southern dinner, greasy spoon. Quick and thoughtful service even when packed, pure dinner dash. I recommend the omelet packed with breakfast meat and the home fries with a biscuit.”
“I’d give 10 stars if possible. I had the club with a side of fried squash. The sandwich was good, but the squash was incredible. The batter was light, and squash fresh… almost sweet. I will definitely be back.”
Circa 1800
At Circa 1800, they strive to use as many local ingredients and products as possible. This brings the freshest possible foods to the customers, and they believe that fresher tastes better. Fayetteville and the surrounding areas produce some of the finest vegetables, local honey, grass-fed beef, and free-range pork. There are more than one hundred breweries in North Carolina, more than any other Southern state. All of our draft beers are made in North Carolina and rotate periodically.
Reviews: “Fast, friendly service, and cute ambiance. We got the nightly special which was a Manhattan steak over Boursin cheese mashed potatoes and a wine reduction sauce with a side salad. My husband devoured it so I’m assuming it was delicious.”
“Good customer service is fading. I don’t just pay for food, I pay for the customer service experience and I expect the advertised menu to be served!” “You must arrive earlier than 7 for dinner, but we had drinks which were yummy, beautiful vintage-looking vibes!”
Max and Moritz
Max and Moritz is a German restaurant that serves red cabbage, cucumber salad, and much more. They even have a German pastry bar. They say they are a good place for kids for casual dining and also good for big groups. They are closed on Mondays but open 9 to 8 PM and 9 to 3 PM on Tuesdays.
Reviews: “The dinner sampler was a fantastic way to try so many things and at a very good value! Cucumber and potato salad options and then Spätzle as the side. Cute little restaurant and bakery with quirky German things scattered around. Strong teamwork on the front of the house to service everyone.”
“Had the Thursday special, beef sauerbraten. So tender you didn’t need the knife they provided. The red cabbage was on point too.”
“We went for a late lunch on the weekend. We all enjoyed our meals, kids included. Super crispy chicken schnitzel was on point.”
