Great Parks In Fayetteville For Kids
While summertime temperatures still linger, today is the first day of autumn. We still are starting to think about sweatshirt weather when you can take the kids outside without being hot or too cold.
My kids are grown now, but when they were little, my husband and I took them camping a lot, and we also took them to public parks around the area.
Doing a little research, I came up with some great places you can take the kids to enjoy the outside: maybe jumping in some fall leaves, playing on playgrounds, or just playing catch with mom. There may be some new parks or play areas that you have not heard of yet here in the Fayetteville area.
Let’s get away from the screens and the video games and take our kids outside. Here are some places that we found that you might love.
Arnette Park
This 100-acre park is a combination of developed facilities and natural woodland and is the home to the “Christmas in the Park” in December. Picnic pavilions, ball fields, and more make this a popular gathering spot for families and large groups. The one-mile-long perimeter road is ideal for biking and walking. Well-behaved pets are welcome to enjoy a walk around the park too, but they must be on a leash under your control at all times and you must clean up after them.
Mazarick Park
Mazarick Park is a multi-purpose park featuring a Disc Golf Course, picnic shelters, a playground, and lake with paved trails. Tennis courts and a baseball field are available for a quick game. Picnic areas are open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis unless they are reserved. The Glenville Lake Pier is open for fishing; you must abide by state fishing license requirements and the water supply watershed code of ordinances.
Lake Rim Park
Lake Rim Park offers something for everyone. An assortment of outdoor amenities, including picnic areas, horseshoe pits, walking trails, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, athletic fields, natural areas, and children’s playgrounds are here for you to enjoy. All facilities are open to the public on a first-come, first serve basis unless they are reserved. Well-behaved, furry family members are welcome to enjoy a walk around the park too, but they must be on a leash and under your control at all times.
