Jennifer Lopez Defended Amid Commercial Flight Ridicule
It seems as though certain celebrities can’t catch a break no matter what they do. Jennifer Lopez, whose marriage to Ben Affleck is the subject of much media speculation, is an example of one celebrity who has been living under the media microscope even more than usual.
The Atlas star most recently faced widespread ridicule after she was pictured flying commercial for a two-hour-and-twenty-minute flight from Naples, Italy, to Paris, France, for Paris Fashion Week. Gossip website TMZ published photos of the singer and actress with the headline: “Jenny From The Cabin!!!”

Over on X (formerly Twitter), one user posted a screenshot of TMZ’s headline and the photo of Jen in a viral post that simply reads: “IM F—ING CRYING.” It has been seen more than 15 million times since it was shared on Tuesday (June 25). The user added a comment that clarified she was making fun of the gossip site’s headline and wrote: “listen, my caption was laughing at the JENNY FROM THE CABIN!!!!! idgaf if she flies commercial or private.”
Commenting on TMZ‘s social post, one person ridiculed, “Jennifer Lopez… she’s just like us…. bwahahaha nah she just needs work.” Added another, “she still not like us.” A third said, “Cause she spent way too much money on her documentary and video.” One person wrote, “PR campaign. Nothing she does is authentic.” Commented another, “She will never be the avg American.” While another user said, “Ohhh she’ hurting for some attention [winking emoji, laughing emojis].” Added another, “She’s probably going broke! [laughing emoji].”
Lopez Defended Over Flying Commercial
In the quote tweets, many users have jumped to Lopez’s defense and questioned why she received any ridicule at all.
One person said: “this all of a sudden hate for jlo is so weird and giving high school bully, especially when she literally makes zero public statements and minds her business.” Another wrote, “y’all flame celebrities for using private jets and then make fun of them for flying commercial.” Commented another, “We should be celebrating celebs who fly commercial btw.” While another questioned, “Y’all want these celebrities to stop using jets or not?”
Another person added, “she’s kinda real for that tho. taylor swift can’t relate!” More users called out notorious “climate criminals” and wrote things like, “So twitter who was dragging Taylor Swift for constantly flying private is now dragging J.Lo for *checks notes* flying commercial… Ok so it was never about the environment then, you all are just a bunch of a–holes. Got it.”

Swift even sold one of her private jets after after years of scrutiny over her carbon emissions. Kylie Jenner faced backlash for flying her private jet for short trips and posted a “relatable” TikTok shopping in Target afterward.
