These Are The 6 Best Cities For Staycations
This summer, millions of Americans will be traveling and going on vacation, but not everyone is so lucky. Some of us need to cut back on expenses, or have to work which means staying home. But, just because you’re not going out of town doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time in your hometown. Some cities offer lots of options for a budget-friendly, fun-filled staycation, and a new report reveals which ones they are.
WalletHub’s annual list of the Best (and Worst) Cities for Staycations has just come out.
- They compared 182 U.S. cities on 42 metrics, which include golf courses, hiking trails and swimming pools per capita, restaurant costs and amusement parks and museums per capita.
- Based on all that, the best city for a staycation in 2024 is Orlando, Florida.
- It’s number one in the food and entertainment category and 18th for rest and relaxation.
- Honolulu, Hawaii, second overall, is number one for recreation, while Shreveport, Louisiana, 31st overall, is first for rest and relaxation.
- At the bottom of the list is Fremont, California, making it the worst city for a staycation overall.
