Spice Girls Reunited At Victoria Beckham’s 50th Birthday
All five members of Spice Girls reunited over the weekend — for an impromptu, intimate performance for special guests.
On Saturday night (April 20), Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, and Melanie Chisholm, better known as Posh, Scary, Baby, Ginger, and Sporty Spice, came together to celebrate Victoria’s 50th birthday in London. The bandmates partied like it was 1997, performing their classic song, “Stop.” Complete with synchronized choreography, the women haven’t missed a beat, nearly 30 years later.
David Beckham shared the moment on Instagram to his 87 million followers, and was seen singing along. “I mean come on,” Victoria’s husband and former England footballer, 48, wrote in his caption. The post has received over one million likes, with fans eating up every second of the fun moment Beckham captured.
Fans Want To Spice Up Their Lives
“David you are the best social media manager out there, thank you for giving the people CONTENT,” wrote one fan. Another hilariously commented, “I am crying cause David’s the groupie here [laughing emojis].” A third declared: The moment the entire planet has been waiting for.” Perfectly summed up, one fan said: “The way a whole generation is SHAKING.”
“Internet wasn’t prepared,” wrote another fan. Meanwhile, one fan offered, “Literally would give my first born to be doing the STOP choreography with the girls.” Pleaded another, “Spice Girls i really need you to do a tour or something [crying emoji].” One fan stated: “This is my Roman Empire [heart eyes emoji].” Another fan of the girl group wrote: “This is now the best day of our collective lives!!!”
Victoria reposted the clip on her Instagram, adding in her caption: “Best night ever! Happy Birthday to me! I love you all so much! #SpiceUpYourLife.”
The party, which was reported to have taken place at Oswald’s private members club in Mayfair, saw celebrity appearances from Tom Cruise, Salma Hayek, Eva Longoria, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Gordon Ramsay.
David then shared a portrait of the beautiful family looking dapper as ever. He swooned over his children and wife in the caption, writing, “so proud of my incredible children celebrating their mummy in the best way possible on such a special night [cheers emoji].” The couple, who have been married since 1999, share children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
The last time the Spice Girls reunited for any type of performance was back in 2019, for a European tour, minus Victoria. For the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony, all five members performed together. Then, in 2021, the group re-released their debut studio album Spice for the 25th anniversary. The 25th-anniversary deluxe edition features bonus tracks, b-sides, and previously unheard recordings.
