How Travis Kelce Landed Taylor Swift: ‘I Don’t Know How I Did It’
Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs celebrates with Taylor Swift after defeating the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game at M&T Bank Stadium on January 28, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland.
How Travis Kelce landed Taylor Swift is something the football star is trying to explain. And of course, he’s doing it with his signature sense of humor. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end reflected on his high-profile relationship with the pop icon on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast Wednesday (April 10).
Travis, 33, and his brother/co-host Jason Kelce, 36, had guest rapper Lil Dicky and reminisced on how he landed the “Anti-Hero” singer. Retired Philadelphia Eagles footballer Jason told the “Freaky Friday” rapper, 36, that their podcast audience has grown in numbers thanks to the Swifties. Their guest then offered his take on the coupling of the “most popular pop star” and the “most popular beloved athlete.”

The Dave star tells Travis that the Swelce romance makes everyone feel like the world is in like high school with their real love story. The rapper, whose real name is David Andrew Burd, called all the haters “bitter losers.” Burd even went so far as to say those reluctant to admit loving the Swelce relationship can’t ignore it because there’s something “so American about it.”
Travis joked that he doesn’t even know how he snagged Swift, because “She was not into sports. So I don’t know how the f— I did it.” Burd quickly reminded Travis of his headline-making comments about how he unsuccessfully gave his phone number to Swift via a friendship bracelet at one of her Kansas City Eras Tour shows last summer. Later, Swift went on to call the move “Metal as hell” in an interview with Time. Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Lil Dicky admitted if he were a woman he would date Travis.
After recently vacationing in the Bahamas as a couple, a source told ET that Swelce is “soaking up their downtime together,” appreciating the time with one other in private.
Following their romantic getaway, Travis told ET how their relationship works so well. “We’re both very career-driven,” he said. “We both love what we do and any chance that I can show my support to her — and knowing that she’s showing me all the support in the world throughout the season — it’s just been an amazing experience getting to know Tay.”
Next month, Travis is set to host his second annual Kelce Jam music festival, featuring performances from Lil Wayne, Diplo, and 2 Chainz. The festival will take place in Kansas City on May 18. Then, he is co-producing a documentary this summer about the late artist Jean-Michel Basquiat called King Pleasure.
These Celebrities Have Questionable Hygiene Habits
To bathe or not to bathe: that is the question fans are curious about when it comes to Hollywood’s elite. With millions of dollars earned over the course of their careers, one would think that celebrities are as clean as they look in public. That is certainly not the case for all famous people, as there have been plenty of reports of stinky stars on sets. Some celebrities have even admitted how rarely they bathe.
Are You Over-showering or Not Showering Enough?
According to a study conducted by Harvard Medical School in 2021, approximately two-thirds of Americans shower daily. Societal norms and the idea that showering daily is considered healthy. Additionally, people find it beneficial to shower on a daily basis to remove body odor, help wake up, and as part of their routine. However, it is unclear if a daily shower accomplishes much and may even be bad for your health and the environment.
With excessive washing and scrubbing under hot water, our body’s natural oils and “good bacteria” are removed. Showering in this manner can cause skin to be itchy, dry, and irritated. Cracked, dry skin may allow bacteria and allergens to breach the barrier skin, leading to skin infections and allergic reactions. Using antibacterial soaps upsets the balance of microorganisms on the skin. Our immune systems need a certain amount of stimulation by normal microorganisms, dirt, and other environmental exposures in order to create protective antibodies and “immune memory.” Additionally, the water supply we clean ourselves may contain salts, heavy metals, chlorine, fluoride, pesticides, and other chemicals that can cause problems, too. Also, the oils, perfumes, and other additives in shampoos, conditioners, and soaps can cause problems like allergic reactions.
Unless you are sweaty and dirty on a daily basis, whether it is from your job, working out, or naturally, experts suggest that showering several times per week is plenty for most people. Showers should last around three to four minutes, with a focus on the armpits and groin.
