Lizzo Quitting Music? Her Cryptic Social Media Post
Is Lizzo quitting music? Months after Lizzo has been accused by former dancers of sexual harassment in a lawsuit, the “About Damn Time” singer has declared, “I quit.” Over the weekend, Lizzo, 35, took to social media to share a message to the online trolls who have successfully gotten under her skin.

In a text post, Lizzo writes: “I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet. All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it.”
Lizzo Declares ‘I Quit’
Her post then gets cryptic and defensive when she states: “But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it. I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views…being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look…. my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name.”
Wrapping up her post, Lizzo concludes, “I didn’t sign up for this s—– I QUIT [peace sign emoji].”
Celebrities and fans rallied behind Lizzo’s post. Paris Hilton commented, “We love you Queen [heart eyes, crown emoji].” Sophia Bush commented, “All of this. The internet isn’t real life. Protect you. We love you.” One fan wrote, “Girl don’t let them win… stay off the internet.. hug up yo man… keep working..” Another said, “You are so necessary, talented and important. You also deserve peace. Whatever makes you happy, I support.”
Lizzo’s message comes one day after she performed at President Joe Biden’s fundraiser in New York City. Lizzo’s invitation triggered criticism, particularly from attorney Ron Zambrano, who is representing many of Lizzo’s former dancers in the lawsuit. He told NewsNation, “Without getting into the politics, I can’t imagine why anyone would want Lizzo representing them in any way given her reprehensible behavior. It’s just a terrible look.”
Another troll took to X (formerly Twitter) to comment on Lizzo’s cryptic quitting message. He is one of many who wrote: “How is Lizzo gonna call her account ‘LizzoBeEating’ then get mad when people point out that she do be eating?” One person said of the lawsuit: “those people you sexually harassed didn’t sign up for that either.” A third person slammed Lizzo: “oh please she really thinks the hate is cuz of how she looks?? no girl I think it’s more cuz YOU are body-shaming and sexual harassing other people.. she’s a total fraud and she know it, that’s why she quits.”
This isn’t the first time Lizzo threatened to quit music. Last June, the Grammy winner considered quitting the music industry after body-shaming tweets got the better of her.
