Jamie Lynn Spears Reacts To ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Elimination
Jamie Lynn Spears was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars after just two weeks of the competition. The Zoey 101 alum, paired with Alan Bersten, shared her thoughts on social media after the show’s October 3 elimination. “Alan, you’re the absolute best friend and partner that anyone could ever ask for. I got to raise some money for my #SAGAFTRA community and meet some of the most amazing ppl, and That’s a win by all accounts in what I set out to do,” she captioned an Instagram carousel of her time on DWTS.
Spears, 32, performed a cha-cha for Latin Night. The judges pointed out lacked confidence, though she improved from her first week on the show. She earned 16 out of 30 points for the effort, which wasn’t the night’s lowest score. Cutting Spears surprised fans and judges. Especially since Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Mauricio Umansky at the bottom with 12 points for their salsa.
The actress told her 2.2 million followers she was aware of the “many wonderfully passionate people who are not happy with the way things fell tonight.” She shared her appreciation for the love and support she received for participating in the competition. Spears called it an “amazing experience.” She seems to have no hard feelings for the remaining contestants. Spears added: “soooo excited to see all the fabulous contestants and their partners continue to KILL it each week!!!!!”
Bernsten also shared his disappointment at their early exit from the competition. “There’s nothing I love more than dancing on @dancingwiththestars,” he wrote in an Instagram Story, with a large crying emoji. Spears posted a mash-up from rehearsing to her final dance in a follow-up post over the weekend. She summarized in an emoji-filled checklist: “y’all giving me more love & support from around the [world emoji] then ever before.” She hilariously added some funny points like, “spray tans that are legit [fire emojis],” “32 years young rocking a leotard on national tv,” “alan’s shirts [dancing man emoji].” Besides “gaining confidence,” Spears took her elimination with grace adding in her caption, “I don’t need a long time to have a good time.”
When Spears was first announced as a cast member for the 32nd season of the dance competition, she shared on Good Morning America that her earnings would be going to a good cause. “I’m ready to challenge myself, and also being able to do it for a reason that means a lot to me while everybody in my community’s on strike in SAG,” she said at the time. “I’ve had this unique opportunity where I was offered a chance to work when my community cannot work. So I figured, ‘I’ll do this, and I’ll donate my weekly salary to SAG, WGA — just give back to them in a time where they can’t even give to themselves.”
