Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez Simultaneously File For Divorce

Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are officially filing for divorce. The "dangerous woman" singer's lawyer, Laura Wasser, filed for divorce first on Monday (September 18), citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for divorce, per gossip website TMZ. Gomez filed a response immediately after. Sources told the gossip site that Ariana, 30, will be paying Dalton, 28, to close out their divorce. The couple, who were married for two years, have a prenup in place. Their date of separation is listed as February 20, 2023.

According to People, Grande and Gomez were "taking their time together to slowly work through the details of the agreement privately," a source said. "They’ve been really caring and respectful of one another through every step of this process." Their breakup was apparently "kind and patient," according to the source, adding that the couple have "moved on." Neither Ariana nor Dalton have commented publicly on their divorce.

As we previously reported, Grande and Gomez apparently tried reconciliation to no avail. They began dating in 2020 following her relationship to Pete Davidson, whom she was engaged to. Since their May 2021 wedding, they have kept their relationship out of the public eye. Still, Gomez made the occasional appearance on Grande’s social media accounts. Gomez, 27, is a luxury real estate agent. Currently, his Instagram page has been deleted. Following the news of their separation, Grande has been reportedly dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater. The Broadway alum married his high school classmate, Lilly Jay, in 2018, and they welcomed a son last year. Slater filed for divorce from Jay in July, and sources previously told TMZ that Lilly and Ethan haven’t been on good terms since his relationship with Ariana began.

In the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked, Ariana is playing Glinda. Meanwhile, Slater plays Boq, the love interest of Nessarose (played by Marissa Bode). The film, which is over ten years in the making, is expected to hit theaters on November 27, 2024. The second installment of Wicked will premiere one year later, on November 25, 2025. It remains unclear if the SAG-AFTRA strike will affect its premiere.
