Ava Max Gets Scratched By Fan While Performing ‘The Motto’
It seems as though musicians aren’t safe while performing anymore. Following Bebe Rexha's recent assault by a fan throwing a phone at her face, another pop star has been attacked. While performing her hit “The Motto” in Los Angeles last night (June 20), singer-songwriter Ava Max was slapped by a male fan. In a video circulating social media, Ava is seen turning when a concertgoer slaps her head back and is escorted off the stage by security.

Taking to Twitter to address the attack, Ava, full name Amanda Ava Koci, wrote: “He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye. He’s never coming to a show again [angry face emojis]. thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!! [heart].” According to gossip website TMZ, the man who slapped Max was not arrested and didn’t intend to harm Ava but simply wanted to “hold her.”

Scooter Braun, who manages Ava, shared a photo to his Instagram Stories of the “Sweet But Psycho” musician holding a cold bottle to her face where she was scratched. One of the show’s attendees wrote about the moment on Twitter following the performance. “The guy rushed on stage at the end right when the last song ended,” said the fan. “The security guard tackled him and literally THREW him down the stairs. Wild!!! It happened so fast.” In a photo of the two backstage, the fan notes, “You can see here she couldn’t even open her eyes but she STILL did.”
The Attacker Responds
The man who scratched the musician took to Twitter to apologize and confess today. “To Amanda Koci I am so sorry‼️& the Koci Family That wasn’t what I intended at all! No sorry can make up for it. It was dumb. Any info I will openly give. I accept the consequences. Apologies to @AvaMax, The Koci Family, & Management.” Responding to his tweet, one person said, “Apologies aren’t enough Dev.” He replied, “They aren’t I know.. how can it? I messed up. Wasn’t my intention. I didn’t mean to get close to bonk her face. I feel horrible. They have my info and I will face the consequences.”
