Hilary Swank Gives Birth, Welcomes Twins
Hilary Swank gave birth to a couple of (million-dollar) babies over the weekend. The Grammy-winning actress confirmed on Sunday (April 9) that she and her husband, Philip Schneider, welcomed twins. “It wasn’t easy. But boy (and girl!) was it worth it,” Hilary shared on Instagram. “Happy Easter! Posting from pure Heaven.”
Their famous friends flocked to the comments to wish them congratulations. Lindsay Lohan wrote, “Congratulations!!!!!!!!! God bless!” Tyrese Gibson commented, “OMG!!!!! Sooooo incredible! Happy first Easter to the angels.” Mariska Hargitay commented, “Welcome home angels,” while Viola Davis said, “Aaaaahhhh!!!!! Congratulations.”
Sharon Stone said, “God bless honey This is the most extraordinary journey ever. so happy for you all.” Juliette Lewis commented, “congrats beautiful strong mama and babes.” Kate Hudson wrote, ” Happy Easter Mama.” Chelsea Handler commented, “Oh, honey! Congratulations!!” Katie Couric sweetly said, “So happy for you Hilary!!! What a gift…or gifts.”
The newborns, whose names have yet to be revealed, are the first children for the couple. Swank and Schneider married in 2018 in a private outdoor ceremony, per E! News. The Freedom Writers actress first announced her pregnancy with twins in October on Instagram. While pointing to her belly in a gif, Swank captioned the post, “Coming soon…DOUBLE feature!” With two angel emojis.
Having Twins at 48
Not everyone was a fan of Swank’s pregnancy announcement at her age. “AREN’T YOU LIKE 50 YRS OLD,” an Instagram user commented on Swank’s pregnancy announcement post. “Gonna be in your 70’s when they graduate college. MIGHT live to see their wedding, maybe.” Standing up for Swank was her You’re Not You co-star, Emmy Rossum. Emmy simply responded with three letters: “Gfy” (An abbreviation for “go f— yourself”).
While speaking about her upcoming projects on Good Morning America on that same day, Hilary revealed that she was looking forward to motherhood as her “next thing.” The 48-year-old actress gushed, “And not just of one, but of two! I can’t believe it.”

Since then, Hilary has posted to Instagram to share her journey with motherhood. On Halloween, she wrote, “#HappyHalloween from me, Pumpkin Moon and my PumpTwins.” By Christmastime, Swank’s belly is much noticeably larger as she wrote, “We couldn’t wish for a more incredible miracle. So grateful for these two gifts of a lifetime!!” In January, Swank worked out with “Da Babes.” By February, the “Oven’s heatin’ up, dough’s beginning to rise!!” Her final post in March before her babies were born was an ultrasound of “Baby A” flexing for the camera, Million Dollar Baby style, of course.
