Masters Friday Tee Times Moved Earlier Due to Weather
With bad weather moving in to the Augusta area Friday, Masters officials have decided to start things earlier in the day, to try and avoid some of it.
“Due to potential inclement weather on Friday, all starting times will be moved up 30 minutes,” Masters officials said. “The first starting time will be at 7:30 a.m. off the No. 1 tee. Ticket gates will open at 7 a.m., as previously scheduled.”
Weather was great on Thursday, with higher than usual temperatures being the only issue. But that’s not the case on Friday.
“While showers are possible in the morning, the best chance of showers will be in the afternoon into the early evening,” The Weather Channel said. “Furthermore, some thunderstorms are also possible. That may be enough to halt play, at least temporarily.”
Masters officials said storms and bad weather appear to be moving in earlier than expected, leading to the change.
