Jenna Ortega Might Work With Tim Burton Again For ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel
Jenna Ortega might be ready to reunite with director Tim Burton for the Beetlejuice sequel. The Wednesday star is in early talks with the series creator, Deadline reports.
Insiders tell the publication that Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder are expected to reprise their roles with Burton directing the project. Though production is hoping to start in late May or early June in London, the budget has not been set, resulting in a back-and-forth. If a deal is made, sources say Ortega, 20, would play the daughter of Lydia (Ryder).

Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones and Catherine O’Hara also starred in the original 1988 film, which grossed $80 million on a $15 million budget. It also won an Oscar for Best Makeup.
Ortega has been on everyone’s radar as of late, with her record-breaking Addams Family Netflix series, Wednesday. The show has smashed the streamer’s viewing records and has already been renewed for a second season following its November release. As Ortega has previously said, she had a difficult time filming due to the intense shooting schedule. She told Variety that she cried “hysterically” and even pulled out her hair. Add in cello and fencing lessons and getting Covid, Ortega pushed herself to film those 14-hour days.
The rising star will be hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time this weekend with musical guest The 1975. She will also be seen on the big screen in Scream VI, alongside Courteney Cox, Hayden Panettiere, Samara Weaving, and Skeet Ulrich, out today.
