Jennifer Coolidge Reveals Her Dream Role
Jennifer Coolidge revealed after her win at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this week as Best Supporting Actress in a Television Limited Series/Motion Picture what her dream role would be.
Speaking to Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans and Zuri Hall backstage, the White Lotus star was asked by Scott, “What’s the ultimate dream role for you now? If anything could happen what would it be?”And with no hesitation, Coolidge, 61, replied with a smile, “I’ve always wanted to play a dolphin.”
Zuri took a moment to clarify: “You mean like an animated feature?” Scott asked, “Like ‘Flipper’?” The Watcher star responds simply: “Like ‘Flipper’, yeah. This clip got the attention of Don’t Worry Darling director and actress Olivia Wilde, who stated that she “will make it happen” on her Instagram Stories while sharing the clip. Wilde posted again on her Stories yesterday with a screenshot of Access Hollywood‘s article, writing: “Finally some accurate press!”

As we earlier reported, Coolidge said “there were so many benefits to doing” the American Pie movie, playing the role of Stifler’s mom. “I got a lot of play of being a MILF and I got a lot of sexual action from American Pie,” she said in an interview with Variety. “I mean there would be, like, 200 people that I would have never slept with.”

On Tuesday night’s Golden Globes, Coolidge joked about the American Pie franchise, commenting on the sequels that she “milked that to the bone,” but if they’re still going for #6 and 7, “whatever they want, you know?”
Coolidge will next be seen in the upcoming Prime Video film Shotgun Wedding alongside Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel. Lopez and Duhamel play a couple who have to save the day when criminals take guests at their destination wedding hostage. The trailer opens with Coolidge, who plays the mother of Josh Duhamel’s character, Tom, singing Edwin McCain’s hit “I’ll Be” and flashes to another scene of her speaking with Lopez’s character, Darcy. “I’ve been looking forward to this moment ever since baby Tommy was cut out of my abdomen,” she says, as wedding preparations get underway.
Shotgun Wedding also stars Lenny Kravitz, Sônia Braga and D’Arcy Carden. The movie will be available to stream beginning January 27 on Prime Video. Watch the trailer below:
