Kim Kardashian And North Dance To Taylor Swift Despite Years-Long Feud
Kim Kardashian seems to have shaken off her years-long feud with Taylor Swift, joining her daughter North in a TikTok dance featuring Taylor’s “Shake It Off.” In the TikTok video posted yesterday (January 5), Kim, 42, and North, 9 dance (kind of) in sync to a sped-up version of Taylor’s 2014 hit. The mother-daughter duo take turns lip syncing the lyrics. They also use a playful filter of Hello Kitty character My Melody in their eyes. The video has been viewed over 7.5 million times since its Thursday upload.

For those who are in the dark about the feud, it all began with Taylor’s earlier beef with Kanye West. It began when he invaded the stage during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards as Taylor was honored for Video of the Year. A few years later in 2016, Kanye dropped the song “Famous” which included the lyrics, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b—- famous.” Taylor was publicly upset over the lyric, but Ye claimed he had spoken to Swift and she gave the song her blessing. Kim defended her then-husband’s claims, calling the singer-songwriter a “snake” for alleging she had “no idea” Kanye would call her a “b—-” in the song. Because of that, Swift said she endured “A mass public shaming, with millions of people saying you are ‘canceled,’ is a very isolating experience.”
But in 2019, Kim announced that all was said and done between her and Swift, and the beef was finally over. “I feel like we’ve all moved on,” she said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. She added that the two still had not spoken. In March of 2020 though, Kim accused Swift of lying about the 25-minute-long phone call between her and Ye. Then in 2021, Kim sat down for an interview and was asked what her favorite Taylor Swift song was. She said, “I really like a lot of her songs. They’re all super cute and catchy. I’d have to look in my phone to get a name.” Most recently, Swift’s album release date for Midnights appeared to be a subtle dig at Kim, coming out on the reality star’s birthday on October 21, 2022.
