Jeremy Renner Critically Injured In Snowplow Accident
Jeremy Renner is in “critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” his spokesperson told Deadline on Sunday (January 1). The Hawkeye star had been airlifted earlier Sunday to a hospital from his Nevada home, near Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe. His spokesperson said his family is with him now. He is “receiving excellent care,” according to the spokesperson. No other details about the accident have been disclosed. The area where Renner was staying was recently hit by a snowstorm on New Year’s Eve that resulted in 35,000 homes across Northern Nevada’s Washoe, Carson, Douglas, Storey and Lyon counties losing power as of Monday morning, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Renner, 51, stars in Paramount+’s thriller, Mayor of Kingstown, which returns with its second season on January 15. The family of power brokers between police, criminals, inmates, prison guards and politicians, tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality. The series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither. Renner has also been nominated for two Oscars: 2010’s The Hurt Locker and 2011’s The Town.
