Keke Palmer Reveals She Is Pregnant On ‘SNL’
During Keke Palmer’s opening monologue on last night’s (December 3) Saturday Night Live show, the Nope star dropped a major bombshell about her personal life. The actress, 29, is pregnant and expecting her first baby with her football player boyfriend Darius Jackson. Palmer told the crowd that she was “especially glad” to be in New York hosting so she could address “some rumors going around.” She said, “People have been in my comments saying, ‘Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant,’ and I wanna set the record straight — I am!”
Palmer ripped open her long jacket to reveal her growing baby bump on stage, did a little shimmy and held her belly before closing the jacket back up again to a roaring crowd. “It is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you, y’all, but it’s even worse when they’re correct! I mean, I was trying so hard to keep it on the down low because I’ve got a lot of stuff going on. People kept coming up to me: ‘Congratulations!’ I’m like, ‘Shh, can y’all stop?’ I got a liquor sponsorship on the line! Let the check clear before then we can get to the damn baby shower.'”
Keke added that she is so blessed and shared her excitement to be a mom. Speaking to possible criticisms of her being a child actor, the television personality stated that she is 29, “I’m grown, okay, I have sex, I own a home, I stormed the capitol on January 6 — you know, things adults do! I’m kidding.”

As if that weren’t major enough, SNL‘s longest-tenured cast member Kenan Thompson was reunited with his fellow Kenan & Kel co-star, Kel Mitchell later in the episode. In a pre-taped sketch set up like a documentary, we see Palmer approach Thompson and pitch him on the idea of doing a project together — a reboot of his hit Nickelodeon sitcom. “I thought it was gonna be a Jordan Peele-produced streaming series,” Thompson says in the sketch. “I wouldn’t have said yes to Kenan & Kel, but now it’s just Kelly.” Cut to Palmer confessing to the cameras this was all part of her grand plan: “I had already sold the show before I even met Kenan. I told the producers we wrote it together.”
The sketch then shows a faithfully recreated Kenan & Kel set, with Thompson even back in his Rigby’s uniform. Keke even came up with her own catchphrase: “Uh-oh, here comes the bus!” Kel’s was “Oh, here it goes.” In one scene, Keke shares Kel’s love of orange soda and chugs the liter before she tells Kenan that she’s pregnant with his baby. “Keke was gunning for an Emmy award, so she wanted gritty, dramatic moments and I thought, ‘That won’t work,'” Thompson tells the camera. “And I was right!”
SNL surprised fans with an appearance of Kel, who runs straight to the fridge stocked full of orange sodas, which he missed more than Kenan. When the store gets held up a moment later, Kel reveals he has been studying karate all these years and gets shot. Keke admits that Kel was actually the father and she slept with him just to hurt Kenan. Watch the hilarious reboot of Kenan & Kel below:
