Pete Davidson Was Apparently The One Who Dumped Kim Kardashian
Pete Davidson has yet to make an appearance on The Kardashians Season 2 after being shown in the trailer. However, this week’s installment includes a reference to the SNL alum. Shot at the beginning of this year, Kim and Khloe Kardashian were reeling over the drama of Khloe’s recent breakup from Tristan Thompson.
Kim tells Khloe that she looked “very skinny.” She added that sisters Kendall and Kylie were a “little concerned” about Khloe’s weight loss following the news of Tristan’s cheating scandal. Kim chalked it up to Khloe being a bit stressed about the whole situation but was otherwise fine. “You have absolutely every right to be concerned, but I’m telling you, she’s fine.”
Khloe said she prefers to isolate and deal with the Tristan situation alone, even though it’s really hard for her. As the sisters reflected on the NBA player’s most recent cheating scandal, Kim was prompted to consider the level of trust in her own relationship, telling Khloe she found it easy to trust Pete wholeheartedly. “We were in the best place we were, so when we’re in the peak of our relationship, you go ahead and cheat on me?” Khloe says. “God, like, I don’t even wanna know what you do in the worst of our relationship. I’m just like shame on me almost. I… know better and I didn’t do better because I had so much hope and, like, faith.”
While on the topic of trust, Kim responds, “Like, you asked me something once. You said, ‘How do you trust Pete?’ And I’m like, ‘I just do.’ Like, it’s a feeling, you know what I mean?” Kim said with a sense of pride on her face.
As we previously reported about Kim and Pete's breakup announcement in early August, the pair had ‘a lot of love and respect for each other” but found that the long distance and their demanding schedules “made it really difficult to maintain a relationship.”
A friend of the Meet Cute star, Johnny Potenza, directly refuted reports that the split was mutual, claiming that Kim’s complicated relationship with her ex-husband, Kanye West, proved to be too much for Pete. “I think Kim had too much baggage for him,” Potenza said in an interview with The Sun earlier this month. “She’s 20 years older, she has four kids and she was married to Kanye West who was always making trouble for them. Kanye was picking fights and calling him names. For a man his age it was childish — a pathetic love drama.”
Potenza went on to say that Pete’s hometown acquaintances had their doubts about the relationship from the start, claiming, “Most of the people I know in Staten Island were saying it wouldn’t last… They come from two completely different backgrounds.”
Another source told People soon after the news broke, “They had discussed ending their relationship for a bit. It was a mutual decision. Getting back together is not in the cards right now.”
Only two episodes of The Kardashians Season 2 is out right now, but perhaps there will be more answers surrounding the relationship before the end of the season.
