Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady Are Living Separately
Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen attends the 2019 Hollywood For Science Gala at Private Residence on February 21, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.
It seems as though Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady are going through a difficult period. The supermodel and quarterback are dealing with “marital issues” since his unretirement, a source close to the couple tells CNN. The couple, who have been married since 2009 are currently “living separately,” another source close to Bündchen said.
Brady, 45, had retired from the NFL in February, only to later reverse that decision a month later.
As we earlier reported, Bündchen revealed in an interview with Elle magazine earlier this week that she has “concerns” about Brady returning to football. “Obviously, I have my concerns — this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present,” she said. “I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.”
Per People, rumors of a rift between the couple increased last month after Brady was excused from practicing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers “to deal with some personal things,” as head coach Todd Bowles said at the time.
When Brady returned to practice nearly two weeks later, he said he needed the time away. “Everyone has different situations they’re dealing with, and we all have unique challenges to our lives,” Brady said. “I’m 45 years old, man. There’s a lot of s— going on, so you just have to try and figure out life the best you can. You know, it’s a continuous process.”
This week, Brady noted the impact of his decades of playing in the NFL in terms of his priorities, per CNN. He said, “I haven’t had a Christmas in 23 years and I haven’t had a Thanksgiving in 23 years, I haven’t celebrated birthdays with people that I care about that are born from August to late January. And I’m not able to be at funerals and I’m not able to be at weddings. I think there comes a point in your life where you say: ‘You know what? I’ve had my fill and it’s enough and time to go on, to move into other parts of life.’”
Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady Through The Years
Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady have been married since 2009 and share two children together: Vivian Lake Brady and Benjamin Rein. After meeting through friends in 2006, Brady and Bündchen started seeing each other that December.
“I knew right way — the first time I saw him,” she recalled to Vanity Fair in 2009 about Brady. “We met through a friend. The moment I saw him, he smiled and I was like, ‘That is the most beautiful, charismatic smile I’ve ever seen!’ We sat and talked for three hours. I had to go home for Christmas, but I didn’t want to leave. You know that feeling of, like, you can’t get enough? From the first day we met, we’ve never spent one day without speaking to each other.”
For the picture-perfect couple, it wasn’t always rainbows and butterflies. They had their fair share of trouble, starting with Brady’s ex, Bridget Moynahan being pregnant with his child in February 2007.
The couple got engaged in January of 2009 and wed one month later in Santa Monica, California. They then threw another wedding two months later in Costa Rica. Nine months later, the couple welcomed their first child together, Benjamin. Three years later daughter Vivian was born.
Over a decade later and the couple is still in love and stronger than ever. See Brady and Bündchen’s relationship grow through the years below:
