Justin Bieber Cancels Tour Again, Cites Mental and Physical Health Issues
Justin Bieber has canceled his Justice World Tour once more, this time citing mental and physical health struggles. He posted an announcement to Instagram Stories today (September 6).
Bieber, 28, previously canceled the tour back in June following a virus called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which left half of his face paralyzed. After two months of rest and treatment, Bieber was back on tour making stops in Italy, Norway and Brazil. There are 70 more stops of the Justice World Tour left that will run until March 2023 but those shows have now been suspended, according to Bieber’s announcement.
He began by telling his fans about his struggles with his public battle with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which resulted in canceling the North American leg of the tour. After resting and consulting with doctors to be cleared to pick the tour back up in Europe, the strain took its toll after six shows.
“This past weekend, I performed at Rock in Rio and I gave everything I have to the people in Brazil,” he wrote. “After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now. So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be ok but I need time to rest and get better.”
The “Peaches” singer concluded the note by writing, “I’ve been so proud to bring this show and our message of Justice to the world. Thank you for all your prayers and support throughout all of this. I love you all passionately!”
A source told gossip website TMZ that a “significant reason” for the suspension is mental health, something that Bieber has been struggling with the last few years on top of his recent health scare. The source added that there is a chance Justin will resume the tour if he gets better.
