Jordan Peele Suggests That ‘Nope’ Will Get A Sequel
Jordan Peele’s Nope might be getting a sequel the Oscar-winning director suggests.
In a new interview with The New York Times, journalist Mekado Murphy asks Peele about the character “Nobody.” Nobody is a character that appears on the film’s IMBD page but is cut from the film. The role is played by Michael Busch. Busch has worked on Human Giant, Conan, and Pretty Little Liars. Per IMDB, he has also written, directed, and produced digital content for places such as Funny or Die, CollegeHumor, and AwesomenessTV.
Peele said, “People are doing a lot of interesting detective work, is what’s going on. The story of that character has yet to be told, I can tell you that. Which is another frustrating way of saying, I’m glad people are paying attention. I do think they will get more answers on some of these things in the future. We’re not over telling all of these stories.”
He was also cryptic when asked about the upright shoe, which has been the topic of many online discussions. “It’s the question I get the most, which kind of makes it the question I’m least inclined to answer with anything defining, at least at the moment.” When asked about Daniel Kaluuya’s character OJ’s fate, Peele said, “I think I made a film that has a very clear sequence of events as to what happened. I think it is very clear, and I will leave that at that.”
Unlike Peele’s previous works Get Out and US, Nope doesn’t end with a resolution. Nope has the potential of telling the story from a character we’ve never met or from a character that already exists and the audience can get a sense of the weird cloud happenings from another point of view. Whatever Peele decides to do next we will certainly be tuned in.
