‘Ted Lasso’ Star Brett Goldstein Brings The F-Word to Sesame Street
Apparently, our favorite foul-mouthed Ted Lasso character is a huge Muppets fan! Brett Goldstein, who plays footballer Roy Kent in the AppleTV series performed The Muppets Christmas Carol in its entirety in just six minutes a few years ago, and now he’s made it big: he’s a guest on Sesame Street.
The Emmy-winning actor and comedian will appear in the show’s “Word of the Day” segment. Goldstein and Tamir are baking cookies when Tamir announces that it’s time for the word of the day, which begins with the letter F. “Oooh, I love the letter F,” says Goldstein, who makes very good use of a word beginning with that letter in Ted Lasso.
Sesame Street, of course, has a much more wholesome f-word in mind: fairness. Just as Goldstein explains, “Fairness is when each of us gets what we need.” That’s when Cookie Monster emerges from the wings to announce his need for — of course — cookies. From there, the conversation turns to the group’s upcoming soccer game — and Goldstein gives Cookie Monster a signature Roy Kent growl after suggesting that he’s the best football player.
