Tristan Thompson Admits To Fathering Maralee Nichols’ Baby
The paternity results are in and they have confirmed that Tristan Thompson is the father to Maralee Nichols’ baby boy. Thompson revealed the result to his fans via his Instagram Story on Monday.
“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,” the NBA star wrote per PageSix. “I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.”
He continued, “I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both privately and publicly.”
The NBA star made an additional slide on his Story and took a moment to address Khloé Kardashian, his ex who he was dating at the time that he and Nichols were together.
“Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you,” he wrote. “You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years.”
He added: “I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”
Khloé and Thompson share a three-year-old daughter together, True Thompson.
The NBA star’s apology comes after he made headlines for Nichols’ paternity lawsuit which she claimed that the two had sex over his 30th birthday weekend in March that resulted in her pregnancy. Per the outlet, “Thompson admitted to having sexual intercourse with Nichols but denied being the father of her infant, whom she welcomed on Dec. 1.”
“Instead of focusing on any negativity, I am choosing to embrace being a mother and doing the best I can for my son,” Nichols said in a statement per the outlet. “I do not want any further media attention, nor do I want a romantic relationship with Tristan.”
She continued, “My goal is to raise our son in a safe, healthy, loving, and private environment.”
Additionally to the children he shares with Nichols and Kardashian, the Sacramento Kings player is the father to his son Prince, 5, whom he shares with ex Jordan Craig.
