Drake: Why Is He Being Sued For Astroworld?
Drake appeared as a special guest on Travis Scott’s headlining set at Astroworld, and as a result, he too is being involved in the legal issues stemming from the “Astroworld that left eight people dead and 25 hospitalized.
In one of the first lawsuits filed, plaintiff Kristian Paredes is suing Travis Scott, Drake, Live Nation, and Harris County Sports and Convention Corporation of negligence, per The Daily Mail.
According to the complaint, special guest Drake “came on stage alongside Travis Scott and helped incite the crowd,” per the outlet.
“As Drake came onstage alongside Travis Scott he helped incite the crowd even though he knew of Travis Scott’s prior conduct,” the complaint says per the outlet.
“The crowd became chaotic and a stampede began. Many begged security guards hired by Live Nation Entertainment for help, but were ignored,” Paredes said in the complaint.
Paredes is now seeking over $1 million for his bodily injuries, some of which he claims are permanent, as well as to cover medical expenses.
