Gigi Hadid is Meeting With Lawyers Over Custody in Split with Zayn Malik
Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik’s split us getting uglier. Gigi met with her lawyers last week to discuss custody of their daughter Khai.
Per Us Magazine, a source exclusively reveals, “There will be conversations about custody.” The insider adds that since the former One Direction member “will always have to be a part of her life,” the model, finds his and Yolanda Hadid’s alleged altercation “distressing.”
As we earlier reported, the 28-year-old musician reportedly got into a physical fight with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, in September. The disagreement made headlines last month when a report surfaced accusing Malik of having “struck” Gigi’s mom at his Pennsylvania home.
“As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter [Khai] to grow up in,” Zayn wrote in a statement. “A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart. In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago. This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to coparent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press.”

Zayn went on to say that he “adamantly” denied striking the 57-year-old grandmother to Khai and hoped she would “reconsider her false allegations.” In a statement of her own, a spokesperson for Yolanda wrote that she was “solely focused on the best for Khai,” adding, “She asks for privacy during this time.”
According to documents, Zayn allegedly called Yolanda a “f—-ing Dutch slut,” and ordered her to “stay away from [my] f—ing daughter.” He then allegedly “shoved her [Yolanda] into a dresser causing mental anguish and physical pain.” When it came to Gigi, he allegedly screamed over the phone to her, “strap on some f—ing balls and defend your partner against your f—ing mother in my house.”
Zayn pled no contest to harassment and was fined, but with conditions: he’s on 90 days probation for each count, totaling 360 days. He also must complete an anger management class and a domestic violence program as well as having no contact with Yolanda or the security guard. If all conditions are satisfied after 6 months, the judge could terminate probation.
Zayn and Gigi broke up around the time of the incident. The former couple began dating in 2015 and welcomed their baby girl, now 13 months, in September 2020.
