See Jimmy Kimmel’s Covid-Safe Halloween Costume Pageant
If there’s one thing Jimmy Kimmel loves to do, it’s laughing at the expense of kids. Just in time for Halloween this Sunday, Kimmel had kids come on to last night’s show one-by-one to show off cleverly made costumes that are Covid-safe.
First up to bat was a hybrid of Teen Wolf and the term “quarantine”: “Quaranteen Wolf!” After howling his best “awoooo,” Kimmel asked the kid if he watched the 1985 movie Teen Wolf, and surprisingly told the host yes!
Next up, Kimmel introduced the next costume under the pretense that, “Say your kid wants to trick-or-treat with a friend, but you don’t know the friend and you don’t completely trust the friend’s parents because the dad quotes Joe Rogan a lot. Well now, you can keep them together and split them up exactly six feet apart with this socially-distant horse costume!” On either end of the two-headed horse were two children and Kimmel said, “Don’t ask how it poops.”
The third Corona-costume paid tribute to “an American hero and a garbage-loving muppet, it’s Oscar the Fauch.” Dr. Fauci in a trash can made their way to Kimmel, and their voice was definitely not one that belonged to a child. “I feel like I should give this kid cigarettes,” Kimmel said.
Inspired by Steven Spielberg, Kimmel’s next Covid-safe costume was P.P.E.T. When Kimmel asked the young child if she’s ever watched the classic 1982 film E.T., she says, “No,” with a smile before adding, “I hope I watch it tonight.”
The last kid on the pageant roster was described to have a bag full of candy and a trunk full of disinfectant — the Purellephant. Not only fun but practical, Kimmel proceeded to use the elephant’s head to pump “Purell” out of its trunk. “An elephant never forgets to wash its hands.”
