Angelina Jolie Avoids Answering Romance Questions About The Weeknd
Angelina Jolie avoided answering a question about the nature of her relationship with The Weeknd while promoting her latest movie, Eternals.
While appearing on E!’s Daily Pop with co-star Salma Hayek on Monday (October 25), host Justin Sylvester asked Jolie, 46, if her children are more excited about her Marvel film or her friendship with the “Blinding Lights” singer.
“Now, I have to know because Angelina, your kids are at a certain age where they have opinions, so I have to know: Were they more excited that you were in the Eternals or that you are friends with The Weeknd?”
“They’re very excited about… this film, if that’s what you’re asking,” a smiling Jolie said, glancing at her co-star Salma. “They’re very excited about this film,” she repeated.

The Lara Croft: Tomb Raider star and The Weeknd, 31, have been spotted out on multiple dinner dates in Los Angeles in recent months, sparking rumors that the pair are romantically involved.
In September, Jolie arrived separately from The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California, but after a couple of hours inside, they were photographed leaving together. Giorgio Baldi appears to be a favorite dining place for the pair, as it was also the setting for their first-ever sighting together in June.
A source said that the pair are “just friends” right now, but the 31-year-old singer “made no secret of the fact he has a huge crush on her” for years.
“They’re clearly not trying to hide [the dinner date],” the insider told us. “He’s definitely focused on getting to the movie business. He has the new HBO series he’s starring in.”
As we previously reported, Tesfaye is set to co-write and star in the new HBO series The Idol, which he co-created with Reza Fahim and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. He has written for television once before, writing and starring in an episode of animated series American Dad on TBS last year; He also played himself in Uncut Gems (2019) opposite Adam Sandler.
