Ryan Reynolds is Taking a Break From Acting; Wife Blake Lively Trolls
Ryan Reynolds is taking a break from acting, announcing on Instagram this weekend alongside a series of photos from the set of his upcoming movie, Spirited.
Reynolds, 44, wrote:
“That’s a wrap for me on Spirited. Not sure I’d have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago.
Singing, dancing and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a whole lotta dreams come true. And this is my second film with the great @octaviaspencer…
Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making. I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists.
These days, kindness matters as much as talent. I’ve been lucky to work with folks who are flush with both.”
Octavia Spencer commented on the Deadpool star’s post, “You’re an amazing actor/singer and producer. I had a blast working with you, Will, and this outstanding cast and crew! Enjoy your downtime.”
The actor received a swell of support from actor friends and fans alike, but you won’t catch his wife of 9 years singing praises. Instead, Lively, 34, trolled her husband publicly in a comment that has since been pinned by Reynolds writing, “Michael Caine did it first.” This was a reference to 88-year-old Caine’s quote that went viral this weekend and seemed to imply that he had retired from acting, which he has clarified that he isn’t retired.
I haven’t retired and not a lot of people know that
