Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost Welcome Baby Boy
It’s a boy for Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost.
Jost, 39, announced the news on his Instagram Wednesday (August 18) writing, “Ok ok we had a baby. His name is Cosmo. We love him very much. Privacy would be greatly appreciated. For all inquiries contact our publicist.” He tagged Saturday Night Live co-star Michael Che as his publicist.
After Jost’s post, Che’s Instagram bio read: “cosmo’s publicist” and he started to share comments on his story of people asking about Jost’s baby.
“TELL ME IF COLIN JOST HAD A KID OR IF HE’S F—ING AROUND WITH US LIKE ALWAYS,” wrote one person. Che wrote, “get a life” over the screenshotted message.
That led Che to rant about the curiosity folks had about Johansson and Jost’s newborn writing, “its one thing to be obsessed about adult strangers you admire. but like, a baby? the f—ing oceans are dying, and youre writing about a somebodys baby. s’matta with you?”
“lol and then you’re like, ‘BUT WHY IS IT A SECRET?!’ derrrrrrrr..i dunno.. maybe cause THIS..?” Che went on. “imagine its 1990, and somebodys like ‘DUDE! DENNIS MILLER HAD A F—ING BABY!!’ ‘I HEARD!! LETS ASK KEVIN NEALON!!'”
Che shared more screenshots of messages from fans saying it is hilarious Jost tagged Che to be his PR person.
No other details as to when the baby was born were shared.
As we reported yesterday, Jost revealed the news that he and his wife are expecting a child over the weekend (August 15) during his set in Ridgefield, Connecticut. “We’re having a baby,” he said during the show. “It’s exciting.”
Johansson, 36, sparked pregnancy rumors in June after skipping out on several in-person promotional events for Black Widow, while her virtual interviews were all close-ups, hiding everything below her shoulders.
The new addition to the family will be Johansson’s second child — she’s also mom to 6-year-old daughter Rose whom she shares with ex-husband Romain Dauriac. Johansson and Jost tied the knot last October after three years of dating. The pair met on the set of SNL in 2006, but weren’t romantically linked until May 2017, when they were spotted kissing at an after-party (a few months after Johansson filed for divorce from Dauriac). They made their relationship public in December that year, announcing their engagement in May 2019.
Johansson called Jost “the love of my life” while appearing on SNL in December 2019. The 39-year-old Jost wrote of Johansson in his 2020 memoir, A Very Punchable Face: “I’ve met someone I love. And who I feel more comfortable with than I ever have before.”
