Travis Scott To Headline Coachella 2022, Frank Ocean In 2023
Some acts for the 2022 Coachella festival has been announced ahead of schedule.
Coachella co-founder and Goldenvoice CEO, Paul Tollett, revealed to LA Times that their planned 2020 headliners — Travis Scott and rock band Rage Against The Machine — will headline in 2022. Looking a bit further ahead, he also announced that Frank Ocean will headline in 2023 (he won’t play next year due to scheduling conflicts). A third headliner for 2022 will be announced at a latter date.
Tollett had reasoning as to why the announcements for the headliners were made so early. Coachella headliners and supporting acts are usually not announced until the January of the concert year.
“Right now, it’s the Wild West,” he told the Times. “I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually, they get to see everyone that we talked about.”
As for safety, no specific details were mentioned but Tollett ensures all precautions will be overlooked.
“We’re monitoring everything,” he said. “I don’t want to put anything in cement right now, because I just don’t know.”
Coachella will run two weekends April 15-17 & April 22-24 of 2022. 2023 weekend dates have not been announced as of yet.
