What Are Angelina Jolie And The Weeknd Doing Together At Dinner?
Angelina Jolie and The Weeknd were seen leaving celebrity hotspot Giorgio Baldi in Los Angeles recently, setting off rumors about what their night out together may have entailed.
After spending hours at the high-end Italian restaurant Wednesday (June 30) night, the unlikely pair left separately, Page Six reports.
The 46-year-old Oscar winner wore a black silk dress and trench coat while the “After Hours” singer, 31, kept it simple in a denim look and black boots. Was it a romantic dinner? Or it could have been a business meeting, as we’ve recently reported that the crooner has gotten more involved in the acting game.
HBO is developing The Idol, which follows a female pop singer who starts a romance with an enigmatic L.A. club owner who is the leader of a secret cult. Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) will most likely star as the club owner/cult leader, co-write and executive produce.
A source told the media outlet, “They’re clearly not trying to hide [the dinner date]. He’s definitely focused on getting to the movie business. He has the new HBO series he’s starring in.”
The Weeknd appeared in an episode of the animated series American Dad on TBS last year. He also played himself in the anxiety-inducing Uncut Gems (2019) opposite Adam Sandler.
Tesfaye dated Bella Hadid in 2015, breaking up in 2016 and reuniting in 2017 after he had a 10-month fling with Selena Gomez. They split for good in 2019, while Jolie has reportedly been reconnecting with ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller. She was photographed leaving her British ex’s apartment building in Brooklyn last month.
