Diddy Legally Changes His Name…Again. This Time, It’s About Love
Diddy has changed his name several times over the years; he previously went by Puffy, Puff Daddy, P.Diddy and most recently Diddy.
Yesterday, the man who was born Sean John Combs posted on his Instagram page what looks to be official legal documents changing his given middle name from John to “LOVE.” The name-changing decree is dated from November 21 of last year, presumably signed by a judge, indicating the court’s approval of the change.
The post is captioned, “Imma need y’all to take me seriously on this one!!! 🙏🏿 #TheLoveEra LOVE 🖤💫✨⚡️”

Prior to the court docs, Diddy posted another photo on Instagram, but with a scan of his new Florida driver’s license. The ID shows that Diddy’s middle name is, indeed, Love. In the next photo, it looks as if Diddy is practicing writing his signatures for his many aliases, with LOVE being drawn on at the bottom of the page.
51-year-old Diddy also reveals, via a photo of his license that he lives in Miami Beach’s lavish Star Island community and that he has been marked as a safe driver.

Diddy first revealed his decision to change his name on his 48th birthday, dating back to November of 2017.
In a video posted on his social media on November 4, 2017, Puff said, “Ayo, what’s up y’all? I have some very serious serious news. I been praying on this and I decided… I know it’s risky and it could come off as corny to some people. Like, yo… I decided to change my name again. I’m just not who I am before. I’m something different. So my new name is Love a.k.a. Brother Love. I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy or any of my other monikers, but Love or Brother Love. OK? It’s my birthday, I feel good. God is the greatest, I give him all the glory. I thank my momma and daddy. Mwah!”
