Elon Musk Hosting ‘SNL’ Is Causing Outrage Among Cast
Elon Musk is set to host May 8th’s episode of Saturday Night Live with musical guest Miley Cyrus. But there seems to be a bit of drama behind the scenes: a few members of the cast have voiced their displeasure.
On April 24, the Tesla CEO tweeted: “Am hosting SNL on May 8”

49-year-old Musk tauntingly confirmed his upcoming appearance tweeting: “Let’s find out just how live ‘Saturday Night Live’ really is.”

Musk will be the first non-actor or non-athlete to host Saturday Night Live since Donald Trump hosted in 2015, New York Post reports.
Saturday Night Live‘s Bowen Yang thinks that Musk’s social-media memo was a horrible joke, posting on his Instagram Story a screenshot of Musk’s tweet, adding: “What the f— does this even mean.”
Fellow SNL castmate Aidy Bryant also posted on her story after Musk was announced as host, echoing Yang’s concerns about the SpaceX CEO. Per the media outlet, Musk boasts a net worth of approximately $179 billion, making him the third-richest person in the world, according to Forbes’ real-time billionaire billboard. Bryant’s Instagram story was a reposted tweet from Senator Bernie Sanders criticizing the “moral obscenity” that the “50 wealthiest people in America today own more wealth than the bottom half of our people.”

SNL fans also took to Twitter to share their opinions on Musk’s upcoming appearance:
When Elon Musk hosts SNL they should just sit him down and refuse to let him leave until he pays more taxes, it’d be the most-watched episode in SNL history

if I wanted to see a TV show headlined by a tedious executive utterly convinced that he's Better Than Everyone Around Him despite all evidence to the contrary, and who murders people for comically petty reasons, I'd watch SNL Featuring Elon Musk https://t.co/3jrh246tNm

I feel for the writers of SNL because Elon Musk has a sketch in his head he’s very proud of and he cannot explain it

Elon Musk hosting SNL is huge for guys still making "that's what she said" jokes who think they'd be great at hosting SNL.

I remember when Elon Musk threatened workers if they unionized. I also remember when I found out he was exploiting children in 3rd world countries. What I won’t remember is him hosting SNL, because I won’t be watching it.

I hate that Elon Musk is hosting SNL because it means a billionaire is taking a gig away from a far more talented millionaire.

Besides Musk’s insane amount of wealth and power, people don’t seem to like his Tweets in regards to COVID-19, spreading misinformation and denial. Musk downplayed the Coronavirus, calling panic induced by the outbreak “dumb” at the start of the pandemic. He also wrongly predicted that there would be “close to zero new cases” by the end of last April. That same month, he demanded an end to pandemic closures. He also came under fire for threatening to revoke stock options for Tesla employees if they moved to unionize. The National Labor Relations Board forced him to remove the tweet.

Based on current trends, probably close to zero new cases in US too by end of April

Per the media outlet, Musk recently nonchalantly said that a “bunch of people will probably die” during his forthcoming Mars mission.
