Meghan Markle’s Father and Half-Sister Take The Side of the Royals
After their tell-all interview about the royal family with Oprah, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have had a few critics, and two of them are pretty close to home: Meghan’s father and half-sister.
Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, said he doesn’t believe the royal family is racist, Page Six reports.
“I have great respect for the royals, and I don’t think the British royal family are racist at all. I don’t think the British are racist, I think Los Angeles is racist, California is a racist, but I don’t think the Brits are,” her 76-year-old father said this morning on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.
In regards to the alleged comment about how dark Meghan and Harry’s unborn child was going to be, Thomas Markle said, “The thing about what color will the baby be or how dark will the baby be — I’m guessing and hoping it’s just a dumb question from somebody … It could be somebody asked a stupid question. Rather than being a total racist.”
Thomas added, “This whole thing about color and how dark the baby is, is bull—.” He also believes this comment should be investigated.
However, Thomas was upset that his daughter had suicidal thoughts after joining the royal family in 2018 saying, “Had I known she had psychological problems, I would have been there for her,” but claimed that Meghan had pretty much “ghosted” her family in the US and had “no one to reach out to.”
Cue the half-sister, Samantha Markle, who has never really been Meghan’s biggest fan from the start of her relationship with Prince Harry. She said that her estranged sibling suffers from “narcissistic personality disorder” — while Prince Harry is the victim of Stockholm syndrome.
Elaborating on that, Samantha goes on to say “I feel sorry for Harry. She pulled him away from his family, all of his friends, the life that he knew. He reminds me of one of those kidnap victims who eventually starts to believe that their life was so horrible and they’re in love with their captor.”
56-year-old Samantha’s reaction to Meghan’s suicidal confessional during her time as a senior royal was not the same as their father’s. “Depression is not an excuse for treating people like dishrags and disposing of them,” Samantha said.
