Tyler Perry Will Get COVID-19 Vaccine On Television
Tyler Perry will be taking one for the team and getting his COVID-19 vaccine on television. Per Page Six, Perry will do so on an upcoming BET special to encourage the black community to get the vaccine.
He spoke about his decision to do this in a recent interview with Gayle King. He said, “If you look at our history in this country, the Tuskegee experiment, Henrietta Lacks, and things like that, it raises flags for us as African-American people. So I understand why there’s a healthy skepticism about the vaccine.”
Tyler admits he was skeptical initially but was later comfortable getting the vaccines after sharing his concerns with doctors.
He states, “I wanted to understand the technology of it. Things like ‘warp speed,’ I was really concerned because this last administration and all the pressure they were putting on the CDC and FDA, I didn’t feel like I could trust it. But once I got all the information, found out the research, I was very, very happy.”
You can see Tyler getting the Pfizer vaccine on COVID-19 Vaccine and the Black Community: A Tyler Perry Special. The special will air January 28 on BET.
