Nicki Minaj Welcomes First Child With Husband Kenneth Petty
People reports that Nicki Minaj has given birth to her first child. Minaj and husband Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, welcomed their baby on Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Los Angeles.
Minaj, 37, announced her pregnancy news on Instagram in July, as she posted a number of photos of herself proudly showing her “baby bump.”
The news comes nine months after she and Petty got married and ten months after Minaj announced her intention to retire to instead focus on her family. However, since “retiring” she’s released a number of new songs, including collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, Tekashi69 and Doja Cat.
“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me … Love you for LIFE,” she wrote on Twitter.
Last October, Minaj and Petty tied the knot. The “Anaconda” rapper took to Instagram and shared the news. The rapper posted a video on the social media platform where she showed off matching ″Mr. and Mrs.” mugs and baseball caps that read “Bride” and ″Groom.”
“Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty 10•21•19,” Minaj wrote in the caption of her post, referencing her last name change and seemingly the day that she wed Petty.
