The Kardashians May Return To TV On A Streaming App For A ‘Shark Tank’ Style Show
When news broke that Keeping Up With The Kardashians was ending, many thought that the camera-loving family was done with TV for good. According to Page Six, that’s not the case.
The outlet is reporting that the family may either start their own media company or may sign a more lucrative streaming deal with Netflix, Apple, or Amazon.
They state, “E! had paid the family $150 million the last time they renewed their contract in 2017, but with fellow TV titans such as Ryan Murphy and J.J. Abrams signing streaming deals worth a reported $300 million, they could find much bigger paydays online.”
According to a source, “There’s more money in streaming. And it’s global.” The insider adds, “They’re open to all opportunities. But they are taking some time off.”
Page Six speculates that they will do a show similar to Shark Tank. So far, reps for the family have not confirmed this information.
Another rumor circling since the family announced their show was ending was that Kris Jenner would jump on board to be part of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast. But Andy Cohen says that that’s unlikely.
Per Page Six, he addressed the gossip, saying, “I don’t think she would do it. She is leaving a show for which she has total control over. Why would she leave and join a show that she has no control over?”
He added, “She wouldn’t be an executive producer of the show. She wouldn’t have control over the edits. I think for someone who is used to having so much power of a show, I can’t see her surrendering that power.”
