City Girls Refute Cardi B Beef Rumors
The City Girls are refuting reports of a feud with Cardi B. During a recent interview, Yung Miami and JT were asked about a rumored dispute between the “WAP” rapper and City Girls’ record label Quality Control. However, JT shut the rumors down swiftly. “It’s not no problems going on with Cardi and our label. Who said that?” JT asked. She then clarified that the legal issues with her label involve Migos and not Cardi B, as Rap-Up reports.
The interviewer brought up someone mentioning that Cardi B didn’t promote the City Girls’ latest project City On Lock when it released. JT said that in fact the Bronx rapper did the support the hip-hop duo. “We weren’t talking about no artist, we weren’t talking about nobody specific. I was talking about the stan pages. They always in people’s comments talking s—,” JT said.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s Cardi fans or Nicki fans. I think they got the two biggest fan bases. They harass you,” JT explained. “If you tweet something, they are in your comments talking s— about you. They create these narratives, but it never be a problem.”
JT continued to explain that there isn’t any beef. “We don’t have an issue with nobody. Cardi doesn’t have an issue with our label at all, period,” JT said. “That don’t have nothing to do with Cardi… She was never even really signed to [Quality Control]. She was just getting help by the label.”
The duo also revealed that Nicki Minaj is at the top of their wish list for collaboration. However, that doesn’t mean that there’s an issue with Cardi. “When we talk about Nicki Minaj, we not doing it to shade Cardi at all,” said JT.
Yung Miami was specifically asked if it was frustrating now that the duo is finally back together (after JT was released from jail), and a pandemic happened. “Yea, it’s been a hard year and a half. It’s just been back to back setbacks,” Yung Miami said.
“But I feel when the world opens back up it’s going to be greater things that are in store for us. I’m learning to be patient. God is sitting us down for a reason. I just hope that when the world does open back up there’s a blessing out there for us.”
