Snoop Dogg Calls Out NFL Owners For Not Speaking Out
Snoop Dogg has recently spoken out about the NFL. The rap icon took to Instagram and went off about the league’s owners not speaking out about the systematic racism in the NFL as well as the protests that are currently taking place globally.
“Has anybody seen any NFL owners since all this been going down?” Snoop asked. “NFL owners, the owners of the teams, the 32 owners, the ones that won’t give Colin Kaepernick a job, the ones that won’t give a black man a general manager job, the ones who won’t allow another black man to own a team.”
“Where the [expletive] are the NFL owners at? Where y’all at? Y’all make all that [expletive] money and don’t have [expletive] to say when this type of [expletive] happens.”
Snoop also criticized the owners for blackballing Colin Kaepernick from the NFL.“But you wanna ban Colin Kaepernick, don’t wanna give him a job, blackball him,” Snoop continued. “NFL owners, y’all better get your [expletive] right before the spotlight becomes on y’all. And we start realizing that y’all real racist too. I like NFL, but if y’all not gon’ be right, [expletive] y’all.”
Earlier this month, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell released a video where he admitted that the league was wrong for “not listening to NFL players earlier,” as Rap Up reported. However, many deemed his response as disingenuous due to how Kaepernick was treated.
“We, the National Football League, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people,” Goodell said. “We, the National Football League, admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest. We, the National Football League, believe black lives matter.”
